To those who had exceptional grades.. you have earned it. You’ve worked hard consistently and yes.. hard work pays off!

To those who passed with average grades.. you continued to try your best despite your previous prelim results.. you did not give up.. and look.. you have now done well and made it through to Sec 5. Hard work pays off!

However.. to those who did not make it to Sec 5.. its ok.. sometimes the road to success requires a slight detour.. just don’t lose sight of your dreams and aspirations.. continue to try your best. Only then can you live your life with no regrets.. to know that you’ve given what you can to everything in life.

Again.. congratulations.. its time to get prepared for the new year ahead.. lots of things to do.. don’t forget to do your homework!! Yeaps.. next year, you’ll have LOADS more to do! It’s not going to get easier.. but you know that it requires hard work and perseverance.. and you’ve shown that you are capable of that.. so I expect nothing less from you guys next year.

Yes!! The “crowning” of the first ever Singapore Idol has happened. It was a good fight I would say between Sly and Taufik. Both did well. There’s no guessing who the whole family was rooting for actually.. yeaps.. Taufik. Eventhough I must say.. I like Sly still. I don’t know why… but I like him. However, I wouldn’t want him to win

A record number of votes were cast by my dearest mommy.. 48!!! Can you believe that? What’s more amazing is that she was supposed to be working.. but she was multi-tasking for sure. Work and vote. Work and vote. Ok ok.. I know there are other obsessed fans out there.. but to us.. thats already QUITE OBSESSED. I am not sure how many votes my sister sent.. but her fingers were clicking away throughout the entire show. I contributed my fair share towards Taufik’s victory too.. just a mere 20 votes.. nothing compared to that of mommy of course.. and even insignificant when compared to the votes by the obsessed fans that he has! However, I think that was still QUITE a bit. Sure.. I want him to win.. but casting hundreds of votes by myself.. naaah.. no thank you. I am under tight budget!!

Strangely.. this idol fever that has swept the country has united lots of people together. Perhaps its the fact that the audience have a say in deciding the winner. It gave people.. even strangers.. a topic to talk about… or blog about. I guess we have not had this camaraderie since the Malaysia Cup fever.

However, now that the idol fever is over.. people will talk about the results. People will await for the release of their albums. However, when that is all over.. I wonder.. What will we talk about? Even in our blogs.

Oh yes.. good news for civil servants.. 1 and 3/4 months of bonus! Yippety Yay!!!
