Updates..

Ramadhan has begun. Today is the seventh day of the fasting month.. so fast. Before I know it, it’ll be time to prepare for Hari Raya.. shopping for new clothes, cleaning up the house, baking cookies, etc, etc.

Appie went to Beijing for 3 days.. interesting place he said but the food was quite bland.. haha.. I guess they just don’t use that much spices there. I must remember to bring chilli sauce if I ever go there.

Met up with Stella for dinner earlier this week because I didn’t get to see her at the class BBQ.. she was SOO late.. haha.. but it’s ok I still love her anyways :)

Hady won the title.. I voted for Jonathan though.. not enough especially because mom voted for Hady from the moment they opened the phone lines to the moment they closed it. She voted everytime she was free at work (and she is QUITE free at work!), every single time she saw the voting numbers on tv when she got home, every minute she sat watching the pre-show (before they closed the phone lines).. so I guess that’s the reason why Hady won. Haha! I can’t wait to see her phone bill for this month!

I also said my goodbyes to all my five classes.. my graduating 4Ns.. I hope that they will do their best in the upcoming exams. Keep their focus on doing well and not let other problems distract them.

To 4A, B, C.. don’t just focus on passing.. it’s not enough to get you to Sec 5. Remember to check your answers and not be careless. Check your spelling. Balance your equations properly. Do not leave any questions blank.

To 4D and 4E.. my ‘A’ students :) remember to score.. I’ve drowned you with plenty of past-year papers and lots of theory notes.. read them.

Good luck guys and girls!

Oh yes.. Ais is also coming.. end November to early December.. can’t wait to see her and David again. It’s been over a year. Can’t wait to see Jamie too!

Che is also coming :) To work here.. Goody good :) Don’t forget to bring my autodrops yeah! :)

Okie dokie.. I am off to watch a movie now.. it’s gonna be a lazy Saturday afternoon.. ciao!

The final showdown

The stage is set.. to find the NEXT Singapore Idol.

After weeks and weeks of serious voting to eliminate the unworthy out of the competition.. we are left with two. Thank goodness.. it is two of the good guys.. both who CAN sing.. to me, it doesn’t matter too much who wins, I won’t feel bitter when the results are released.

May the best man win!

The final countdown.. designed by my DARLING sister

Dommie’s gone :(

Appie’s cat in Holland, Dommie, passed away yesterday afternoon.. she will be terribly missed. Any pet owner will definitely agree with me that losing a pet is definitely a great ordeal. It will take a whole lot to move on and accept what happened. Appie wrote a touching article about her life on his site. I know the whole family will miss her. She’s been so much a part of their life.. after 12 years.. she’s gone.

She’s not like Ginger.
She does not like to be hugged or touched or fussed over.
She loves roaming around.

When we go back there for holidays, there will be no more meows.
No more grabbing of food from my hand while we have dinner.
She loves eating chicken, just like me.
No more little kittens for us to play with when we get there. She’s given birth to so many kittens. Each time they give the kittens away to some family, I am sure the kittens have brought much love to their lives.

I hope she didn’t suffer as much in the last few hours of her life.

She will be dearly missed.

The one and only, Dommie

Crikey mate!

I remember how we were trying to look for him at the Australian Zoo when we visited Queensland last December. Unfortunately, it was not our luck. He was just there the day before. There were thousands of people. According to the tour guide, we were actually blessed because if Steve was around, we would not have been able to walk around the zoo easily.

What fascinated me about the zoo was the way the keepers interacted with the animals. I guess that’s the way Steve Irwin was with every animal.. he treated them with so much love.. hence it rubbed on everyone else.. I felt that the animals were blessed to have such caring keepers, that they are very much loved.. from the cuddly koalas to the scary crocs! Ermm.. scary to me but a beauty to him!

It is definitely sad to hear about his death. I guess in that line of work, you do have CERTAIN job hazards. As much as people are saying that he died while doing something he loved, it will never be easy for his family to handle.

Interestingly, I saw this article. Here’s an excerpt.

Khalid Hassen, who had shot dead more than 17 000 African crocodiles in a hunting career, which had spanned over four decades, said: “I’m very upset to hear about it. I know that he led a dangerous life, but it just doesn’t seem right that a fish should kill him… It is an unfitting death for him.”

Well.. whichever way you see it.. it’s no doubt that this man had so much passion for wildlife and its conservation.. and that it is a terrible, terrible loss.
